*Cute Candy Bag~

This is a bag of candy that I recently bought.
It's called color pencil candy.
The candies are in different colors and in pencil shape.
I think the packaging of a product is really important.

Saul Bass

Since I'm doing Saul Bass for my second project, I can also show some of his works here.

I think Saul Bass his style is grid-like placement and irregular forms, also freely drawn letterforms.

I really like his style and I like the non-prefect grids.

I like simple and clean composition in a design, but I think prefect grids are too clean.

I think his designs are attractive to me.

Japanese Mystery Book

A book that I borrowed form the library.
It is a Japanese mystery book.
This book was printed in 1991.
I really like the cover picture.
I like the color of the people and the color of people on the knife changed.
For the book's content page, it has a small picture represented each title.
I think it's an interesting content format.

This is the CD cover of a Japanese group called ARASHI.
They are one of my favorite groups.
The theme of this album is "Popcorn"

The cover of this album combined their theme and themselves.
I think this cover is funny and weird enough to attract attention.

Year Book

This is the year book cover of my class.
I think this cover really bring out the feel of 2012.
The "2012" are square-like form and it has a SF feeling.
The type face also matched the background.
I think it's a pretty good cover for yearbook.

This is the logo for movie website Fandango.

I think their logo is pretty easy to recognize.

The orange color matched their theme color on the website.

The logo use their "F" from Fandango, and the logo looks like a movie ticket.

Lotion

Image from http://www.myskin.com

This is a product that I saw online.

It is a Japanese brand lotion.

I think it's a good design because it brings out the most important point directly.

The most important point for this product is moist for skin.

The black character "潤" means moist and I saw it right away when I look at this product.
(the character "極" means extremely,very
so the characters together mean extremely moist )

I think this is the power of black, big, bold character.

Ad in Communication Arts magazine

When I was working on my magazine essay,
saw this awesome ad in Communication Arts.
It is an ad for paper.
I didn't think that this is a good ad when i first saw it.
I was surprise when I toughed it.
It felt like a rough surface and not the whole picture are the same texture.
I think it's a really special ad.
Try to find it and touch it !
It in Communication Arts magazine, the July/Aug 2012 issue.

SOC textbook

This is the textbook for my Sociology class.
The first time that I saw it was before class started.
I searched it online and saw the picture,
the cover is full of pins.
All the pins are with famous symbols like twitter icon, Red cross, LOL...
the back of the cook is the back of the pins.
I think it's an interesting cover and it attract me.
The cover made me feel like it's interesting and Sociology is interesting,
that's the reason that I chose Sociology class this semester.

Book Name: Sociology In Our Times: The Essentials

7 UP!

One day, I was at Parkland and I was so thirsty, but I didn't feel like to drink water at that time.
I went to the soda machine and wanted to buy a drink.
I was standing in front of the soda machine and thinking about which one to buy,
then I saw 7 UP and saw the picture on the bottle.
I like the curve in the picture,
the curve and the lemons together looks fresh.
It make me feel like the drink is fresh too,
so I brought the 7 UP.

After I brought it, I drank it and felt fresh ;)

Book cover

I bought this book from the library's book sale.
The reason that I bought it is not because of the story. I didn't know what the book is about. I bought it just because I like its cover.
The picture on the cover looks relaxing quite, and peaceful.
I also like how the title looks like. It match the feel of the picture.

Big Bang CD Cover

This is a CD cover of a Korean group called Big Bang.

I am not huge fan of Big Bang, but when I was thinking about graphic design that I saw, this CD cover jumped out from my mind.

I think I only saw this picture a few time last year on facebook, but it gave me a deep impression.

My first thought when I saw it was "Oh! It's cool!"

Then I realized that it's Big Bang's CD cover.

This cover is a little playful.

I google their CD covers in the past and this cover is a different style cover.

I think if all the CD covers put together, this cover will stand out and my eyes will first catch this cover.

Maybe the reason is the contrast between the black background and the white figure.

Also the figure has a shining feeling.
